Three people linked to the Aisha Huang case have been charged with illegal mining crimes.

The three people’s names are Li Wei Guo, Shi Mei Zhi and Nana Kwame Opoku.

Adom News reported that they were all charged with conspiracy to undertake mining operations without a license.

The accusations follow investigations launched on September 14, 2022, following information from the Ministry of National Security in Koumasi.

Subsequently, law enforcement officers arrested the accused at their residence at Paraku Estates, near Daaban, Kumasi, Ashanti Region. Investigations into their activities followed.

For other specific charges, Li Wei Guo was accused of making a false declaration when obtaining a work permit.

Shi Mei Zhi and Opoku were accused of misrepresentation when obtaining residence permits.

Opoku was also accused of facilitating the participation of non-Ghanaians in illegal mining, contrary to what is happening.
