Do you consider yourself to be a “The man from Florida?”

If that’s the case, here’s your chance to prove it at the second annual Florida Man Games next year, where you can follow in the footsteps of “Véro Homme” Indian River County team that won second place in the inaugural event this year.

The 2025 trials will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 17 at 50 Ellis St., Suite 203 in St. Augustine.

Here’s what you need to know about the 2025 Florida Man Games.

What is the Florida Man Games?

The inauguration Florida Men’s Games were held Feb. 24 in St. Augustine, allowing residents to challenge each other that poked fun at the state’s reputation for bizarre stories. The competitors took part in these games:

  • Weaponized Pool Noodle Mud Duel (Individual and Group) – “Test your strength inside the Florida Man Games Colosseum (huge above-ground swimming pool).”
  • Obstacle course to escape arrest (individual and group) – “Jump over fences, through backyards and get away from real police officers to earn your freedom! »
  • Category 5 Cash Grab (individual and group) – “Subject yourself to Category 5 winds as you scramble to catch as much real money as possible.”
  • A catalytic converter, 2 bicycles and a handful of copper pipes: race against time (individual and group) – “Take part in a head-to-head race that lets you experience a day in the life of a Florida man. »
  • Beer Belly Florida Sumo (Individual and Group) – “Dive into the beer belly of the beast as you try to knock your opponent out of the ring.”
  • Henhouse Bingo – “Two chickens will decide whether you win or lose in this fun and dirty game inspired by our Florida family in places like Deland or Interlachen, where they literally do this for fun because they don’t know cell phones exist yet .
  • 911 Fight Night: Badge Brawl – “Watch the officers take on the firefighters in the Brawl of the Badges main event as the Florida Man Games comes to a close. This epic showdown promises to be intense as these heroes compete to prove who is the toughest behind the badge.

How do I register for the 2025 Florida Man Games?

The games are no longer accepting video applications in September, but there will be an additional chance to try out in person at the first-ever Florida Man Games screening event this weekend.

New additions to the game’s requirements this year include recruiting scouts and requiring one woman on each team. Teams that have already applied must still participate in tryouts. And if you haven’t yet assembled a team to apply, you can still apply and register for trials on the site. Florida Man Games website.

Here are the requirements:

  • Only 12 teams will be accepted, each representing a different city to compete in the 2025 Florida Man Games.
  • You must compete with a team: Teams must consist of three to five members, all aged 18 or over, with at least one aged 21 or over. You must have a woman on your team for the 2025 games.
  • You must be a Florida resident: All team members will be required to provide proof of Florida residency.

When are the 2025 Florida Man Games?

The second Florida Man Games will be held from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on March 1, 2025 at the St. Johns County Fairgrounds in Elkton. General admission tickets are $45 and VIP tickets are $145.
