Jonathan Bailey says singing in front of Villain co-stars Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo was a daunting task; “I completely dissociated myself”

Anticipation for Wicked is high among audiences as the musical film boasts a brilliant cast, including Jonathan Bailey, who also sings in the adventure. The actor revealed his training and singing alongside talented musicians, who also happen to be his co-actresses, Ariana Grande and Cynthia Ervio.

Baileywho plays the role of Fiyero Tigelaar in the film, according to ComicBook, was intimidated into singing the songs featured in the film in front of Large And Ervio. The actor spoke to the publication and mentioned that he was totally “dissociated” but at the same time he worked extremely hard to achieve that perfection while working with the singers.

He told the outlet: “I would say I have completely dissociated. I vaguely remember bits of my toupee in the foreground and Jon Chu doing like that (thumbs up) in the background.

The Bridgerton star added that he trained really hard, knowing that Grande and Ervio, two of our best singers, were going to be there. Bailey talked about going for “gold” and it was amazing.

He mentioned to the publication that he underwent a facelift thanks to the “g-force of the weight of their vocal prowess.” He spoke about his training with Eric Vitro, who taught him to sing from Zoom.

The duo met in person two months after finishing. He called it one of many incredible collaborations. He said Vitro was “gentle.” Bailey added: “And I was going back to my trailer and he had to, you know… keep the voice under control.”

However, even though the musical project is generating buzz for its visuals, talented cast, and behind-the-scenes dynamics, it is also gaining attention for some memorable and meaningful moments during the film’s promotion.

Many are aware of the deep bond that Grande and Ervio formed during filming, this is reflected a lot when they are on red carpets or during their interviews together.

Another big moment was captured when Grande was reportedly seen helping fix her co-star and beau, Ethan Slaterthe bow tie at the premiere of the film on November 9 in Los Angeles.

She gushed about him while speaking with Entertainment Tonight. The Thank You, Next singer said Slater had always been so “lovely” and said he was incredible in the film. She called him “an extraordinary person.” The We Can’t Be Friends hitmaker said she’s happy that people are getting to know Slater and that her heart is “happy”.

The Next Adventure also features Jeff Bloom, Michelle Yeoh, Peter Dinklage, Bowen Yang and more. The film is scheduled to release on November 22, 2024.
