Ms Mann-Kler said she was looking for “special stories and memories around food”.

She said: “If there’s a specific food or recipe that’s been in the family for generations, that’s been passed down, we all have those recipes and we want to hear them.

“The one I go to in terms of self-reflection is a chicken curry recipe that my dad taught me.”

She said every time she made the dish she was back in a Leicester kitchen with her father.

“It brings me joy and I relive it by cooking it, eating it, sharing it with my children and my husband and passing it on to another generation.”

The book will be available for purchase at the end of 2025.

Anyone under the age of 18 will need permission from a parent or guardian to submit a recipe.
