Those looking to gift Google should love the Chromecast with Google TV 4K. It’s not as good as the Roku Express 4K Plus, but this streaming stick comes close to any other device on the market. It surpasses this Roku by adding Dolby Vision compatibility, but its biggest strength as a smart device is Google Assistant’s voice search, which works well for finding content to watch.

We also like the impressive integration with other Google services, such as Google Photos and YouTube TV. The interface is more advanced than Roku’s, but ultimately we prefer Roku’s simpler approach and straightforward search results. That said, the new Chromecast media streaming device is a better smart streaming choice for those already living in Google’s world.
