The ‘serial killer’ of an illegal immigrant who bludgeoned a man to death with a concrete block and murdered three others in a rampage across Europe is arrested in France ‘after randomly attacking a woman in a train “

An illegal immigrant suspected of bludgeoning several people to death with concrete blocks across Europe has finally been arrested in the south of France after launching an unprovoked attack on a woman on a train.

The suspect, identified as Lévis E., allegedly murdered several people in France and the Netherlands while avoiding capture by traveling across the continent by train.

The 32-year-old Cameroonian national, who is the subject of an expulsion order according to The Parisianwas arrested by police at Toulon station after attacking a 26-year-old woman on Tuesday aboard a train bound for Marseille.

Train operators stopped the train in Toulon after the alleged victim told them a man wearing a black hoodie hit her repeatedly and kicked her in the shin as she tried to find your seat.

The alleged attacker, who, according to station staff, was traveling without a ticket or identity document, was calmly arrested by the Toulon gendarmes on Tuesday around 8 p.m.

But soon after arresting the man, investigators realized he was the prime suspect in a series of gruesome murders and attempted murders across Europe.

The suspect, identified as Lévis E., is accused of killing several people in France and the Netherlands in sickening attacks in which he used concrete blocks as a weapon, according to police sources.

Levis E. allegedly waged a violent campaign in the Netherlands and France, carrying out savage attacks on unsuspecting victims before immediately boarding a train and fleeing the country to avoid authorities.

Authorities suspect he committed his latest murder less than 24 hours before his arrest in Toulon yesterday.

Chilling surveillance footage released in the French city of Lyon reportedly showed an individual matching the description of Levis E. smashing a concrete block over the head of a sleeping homeless man on the night of November 11-12.

The attacker is seen in the footage brandishing the dense slab in the air before running towards the man sleeping in the corner and slamming the weapon on top of him.

The tragic victim, a Moldovan who was sleeping rough in the streets of Lyon, was found dead, seriously injured in the head.

This video bears a shocking resemblance to a similar attack in Rotterdam just over a week ago, where a homeless man was left in a coma following a similar attack on November 4-5.

Dutch police are actively searching for the Rotterdam attacker, who was filmed on CCTV fleeing the scene after dropping another concrete slab on the head of his victim who was lying on the ground.

The man boarded a train bound for the town of Breda hours after the attack, before heading to the cities of Antwerp and Brussels in Belgium.

Sharing an urgent appeal for information about its investigation, Rotterdam police released a CCTV image of the attacker.

He wears a black hooded jacket, dark trousers and a pair of trainers with distinctive orange laces – an appearance which matches the description given by the woman who claimed she was attacked on the train to Marseille.

At the time of Lévis E.’s arrest in Toulon last night, the victim attacked in Rotterdam, a 37-year-old homeless man named Benjamin, remained in a coma according to the Dutch media De Telegraaf.

In addition to the attacks in Lyon and Rotterdam, Lévis E. is also wanted for at least three other murders committed in recent weeks in Evry, Strasbourg and Dijon.

Each attack has similar characteristics, with homeless people killed in public spaces by blunt force trauma by a suspect who then boarded a train.

The arrest of Levis E. triggered an urgent multinational investigation.

Belgian and Dutch authorities are now working closely with French authorities to determine whether the Cameroonian national could be involved in other unsolved crimes.

The police officers who arrested Lévis E. in Toulon discovered that he was already the subject of an expulsion order as well as arrest warrants for attempted murder and minor offenses, including shoplifting.

He is currently being questioned by police in Toulon, but is expected to be transferred to Evry where his first arrest warrant has been issued.

“After checking the file of the person sought, they noted that he was the subject of an arrest warrant issued by an investigating judge in Evry,” indicated the Toulon prosecutor, Samuel Finielz.

“The man has been taken into custody and steps will be taken to have him transferred to the investigating judge who made the order.”

The Lyon prosecutor declared Le Figaro that it was still too early to confirm that Levis E. was involved in the attacks in Rotterdam and Lyon.

But Le Parisien reports that the clothes and DNA of Lévis E. match those of the alleged murderer of the homeless people of Evry and Lyon.

Meanwhile, the family of the homeless man attacked in Rotterdam have launched a fundraiser in the hope that he will come out of the coma.

Benjamin’s sister Amy is said to have launched the crowdfunding campaign to ensure he never has to sleep rough again, in the hope he can recover from his critical condition.

The collection raised more than €26,000 last night.
