Bharti Airtel Q2 profit: Net profit rises 98%, turnover at Rs 41,473 crore

Bharti Airtel reported a bumper set of profits for the quarter ended September 2024. Consolidated net profit soared 98% to Rs 4,153.4 crore in the final quarter compared to Rs 2,093.2 crore in the September 2023 quarter. grew 12% to Rs 41,473.3 crore in the second quarter, compared to Rs 37,043.8 crore revenue in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal.

The consolidated net profit before exceptional items for the second quarter was Rs 6,751.1 crore in the second quarter.

Consolidated EBITDA last quarter grew 12% to Rs 22,021 crore YoY, implying an EBITDA margin of 53.1%.

Earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) grew 10.7% year-on-year to Rs 10,996 crore. However, the EBIT margin fell 29 basis points year-on-year to 26.5%.

Gopal Vittal, MD at Airtel, said: “We delivered another quarter of strong performance, with India revenue growing 8.7% sequentially. Africa also maintained strong revenue growth momentum, growing 7.7% in constant currencies. The progress of the pricing repair is in line with our expectations for increased ARPU and SIM consolidation. We reported a peak ARPU of Rs 233. Our focus on capturing quality customers and premiumization helped us add 4.2 million smartphone customers. We continue to expand our WiFi coverage with FWA offerings in over 2,000 cities. We continue to invest in our digital businesses to diversify the strength of our portfolio and drive long-term growth. Airtel also continues to invest in a future-ready digital network to deliver exceptional customer experience – we launched India’s first AI-based, network-based spam detection solution to address the endemic problem unwanted calls and messages. Our 5G network has once again received validation from Open Signal – Airtel received all five awards for 5G network experience. »

The results were announced Monday after trading hours. Bharti Airtel stock ended 0.05 per cent lower at Rs 1663.65 on the BSE. The market capitalization of the telecom company stood at Rs 9.47 lakh crore.
