The MA duo Big Brothers Big Sisters will march in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in 2024. How to Watch

As Thanksgiving approaches, it’s almost time to celebrate one of New York City’s classic holiday traditions: Macy’s Thanksgiving Paradefull of floats and live performances.

At this year’s 98th annual parade, two of the faces joining talented individuals from across the country are Arin and Amelia, a Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of Massachusetts.

Big Brothers Big Sisters, a program that creates one-on-one mentoring relationships to support youth power, has formed a multi-year partnership with Macy’s, featuring dozens of Big/Little duos each year in “Let’s Have a Parade,” the emblematic phrase which signals the start of each parade.

Last year, BBBS members traveled the parade route for the first time in a giant Christmas tree-shaped float, and this year, BBBS will perform on Macy’s “Winter Wonderland in Central Park” float. After a nationwide talent search, Arin and Amelia were selected from 20 big and small to be part of the phrase and float.

“Arin and Amelia talked about what an incredible experience it was,” said Katie Roy, vice president of programs at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Mass and MetroWest. “The Match is incredibly excited to be part of the parade and can’t wait to travel to New York!
