Nike’s legendary Wu-Tang Dunk finally released to the public last week and pairs currently average over $260 on the resale market, but that wasn’t always the case. The sneaker originally surfaced in 1999 for promotional use only with a rumor that 100 pairs existed. It has long been sought after by collectors. It was so coveted that NBA veteran and notable sneaker collector PJ Tucker nearly paid $75,000 for a pair. “I found a (size) 14 in 15 years, and the dude wanted a house deposit for it,” Tucker said during the Sneaker of the Year panel. “He wanted $75,000. Supposedly one of only 14. I actually thought about it, because I really wanted this shoe. Unknowingly, Lil Yachty, who arrived late to the panel, beat Tucker to the punch by paying almost $1,000 more..
