    Ireland must prepare for “significant potential economic challenges” following the US election, Taoiseach Simon Harris has said.

    It comes after US President-elect Donald Trump’s choice as Commerce Secretary, Howard Lutnick, a critic of Irish fiscal policy, compounded existing concerns over possible changes to tax and trade policies. Mr Harris said he would brief Cabinet ministers on Wednesday about his meeting with US President-elect Donald Trump.
