Placed in the eye of the storm, Graham’s first memory when asked to recall this era is perhaps surprising. “Honestly, we spend a lot of time alone,” he says. “Because it’s so busy, your schedule goes to this radio session, then this radio session, then you do a concert, and then when it’s all over, you’re in a hotel by yourself.” A homebody who clearly craves normalcy, the silence after the screaming fans suited Graham well. “It doesn’t bother me that much. I’m good at being alone. But then I signed my recording contract at 29,” he warns. “I think if I had done it when I was 19 or 21, it would have been a very different story.
