    Trump and Vance expected to return to Michigan on Friday

    Former President Donald Trump and his running mate, Ohio Sen. JD Vance, will return to Michigan on Friday for campaign rallies.

    Vance is scheduled to speak at 1 p.m. at Kalamazoo/Battle Creek International Airport in Portage. Trump will speak at Macomb Community College in Warren at 4:30 p.m.

    The Trump campaign said in a statement that the auto industry is the backbone of the state’s economy and that the two men are expected to discuss it, as well as inflation and other issues related to the economy.

    Warren’s rally will mark Trump’s 15th visit to Michigan since February and his third stop in crucial Macomb County. The Republican presidential candidate visited MCC in September and also stopped at a Roseville campaign office in August. Vance also stopped in Macomb.

    Vance’s appearance will be his 11th in Michigan and his second this week following his appearance in Saginaw Township on Tuesday.

    Democratic nominee Vice President Kamala Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, have also focused on Michigan. Walz should make three campaign stops in Michigan Friday, with one each in Detroit, Flint and Traverse City.

    Both campaigns are prioritizing Michigan as polls show the Michigan race is underway. to be virtually linked.
