Cyclone Dana Live Updates: Netaji Subhash Chandra International Airport in Kolkata and Biju International Airport in Odisha have resumed flight operations after slight improvement in weather conditions.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), in its latest statement, has predicted flash floods in 16 districts of Odisha due to heavy rains. The districts expected to experience flash floods include Angul, Balasore, Boudh, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Gajapati, Ganjam, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Kandhamal, Keonjhar, Khurda, Mayurbhanj, Nayagarh and Puri.

Meanwhile, in Kolkata, several areas remain flooded due to heavy rains. Calcutta Mayor Firhad Hakim said all pumping stations had been alerted to prevent further water stagnation, and the Calcutta Municipal Corporation had installed suction machines to clean gullies and manholes.

In Odisha, government authorities and relief forces began evacuating people from areas likely to be hit by the cyclone last night. To cope with the resettlement of nearly 10 lakh people, multi-purpose cyclone shelters, flood shelters and other buildings have been identified and prepared for temporary relief camps.

Arrangements have also been made to provide food, drinking water, lighting, sanitation and health facilities to those required to be evacuated to these shelters, the Revenue and Management Minister said disasters, Suresh Pujari.
