• Choose the flirt option whenever it appears – You’ll know what it is, the icon in the middle of the choices will be a heart if you hover over it.
• Show respect to the Antivan Crows – Never make fun of them, their methods, or their family (that’s a big “no” for Lucanis).
• Showing the willingness to be strong (and sometimes violent) – For example, choosing to knock out an NPC after reasoning with them mid-story will get Lucanis’ approval.
• Help Treviso, not Minrathous, at the end of the main quest “A Guardian’s Best Friend”.
• Express romantic interest in Lucanis when the option appears.
• Engage in an exclusive romance with Lucanis when the option appears.
• Go to Rook’s room and spend the night with Lucanis afterwards escape Solas’ trap.

You don’t have to flirt with Lucanis every time the option appears, but we highly recommend doing so if you want to see all the romantic interactions and dialogues you can have with him. However, you only need to choose the flirt option a few times to be able to express romantic interest in Lucanis later.

Another important note is that choosing Minrathous over Treviso in the main story will make it impossible to romance Lucanis – he doesn’t cope very well with losing his city. Expressing romantic interest in Lucanis

After completing the main quest “Cauldron” and the companion quest “Bloodbath” for Lucanis, go talk to him at the lighthouse. If the option to talk to him doesn’t appear immediately, travel to another region and then return to the lighthouse (you may have to do this several times for the game to display the option).

When the option to talk to him appears, do so immediately and choose to “express romantic interest in Lucanis” when the choice appears. This will allow you to continue flirting with the Antivan Crow, but you haven’t fully committed to it – yet.

Commit to Lucanis

You can engage with Lucanis after completing his companion quest “Inner Demons”. Once this quest is completed, head to the lighthouse to talk to him. However, we found that we had to have the conversation between Lucanis, Emmerich, Rook, and the corpse in Emmerich’s room for the conversation with Lucanis to appear. Additionally, to trigger this conversation with Emmerich, we first had to complete Emmerich’s first two companion quests.

Once you can chat with Lucanis in the lighthouse kitchen, you can choose to engage in an exclusive romance with him.

Additionally, if you check your companion’s menu after engaging with Lucanis, you’ll see that your status with him is now “Dancing with a Demon” – which suits the Antivan Crow perfectly.

Spend the night with Lucanis

The next major step with Lucanis will take a while, so don’t worry as you haven’t missed anything if it seems like he’s been listless for a while. Once Rook has successfully escaped Solas’ trap in “A Cage for the Gods” and the team has reunited at the lighthouse, return to Rook’s room and Lucanis will show up to check on you.
