Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, has signed five bills into law, including one relating to water supply.

The water bill, titled the Adamawa State Water Supply and Sanitation Services Act, 2024, applies to various agencies of the state, including the Water Regulatory Commission. Adamawa State Water Services, Private Sector Participation and Service Providers, Adamawa State Water Corporation, and many more.

The details are according to Governor Fintiri’s Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonasikou, who revealed in a press release on Thursday morning that the bills mark significant progress in development efforts.

The second newly signed law is the Adamawa State Health Supplies Management Agency Act, 2024, which repeals the National Essential Drugs Program Decree of 1996.

There is the Teachers Service Commission Act, 2024, which establishes the Adamawa State Teachers Service Commission, as well as the State College of Agriculture, Science and Agriculture Ganye Act, 2024. Adamawa Technology, which repeals the Adamawa State College of Agriculture Act 15 of 2016.

The fifth new law is the Adamawa State College of Nursing Act 2024, which repeals the Adamawa State College of Nursing and Midwifery Act 2 of 2017.

“Governor Fintiri stressed the importance of collaboration in the implementation of these laws, ensuring that their provisions are understood and adopted by all segments of society,” Wonasikou said.
