PEMBROKE, N.C. — The Pembroke Police Department is looking for 9-year-old Mekiya Werrell Strickland. She is described as a black female, 4’10” tall, 160 lbs., with brown hair and brown eyes. Authorities believe the victim is with Claude Leslie Werrell, described as a 6’5″ black man, 50 years old and weighing 280 pounds. He is believed to be driving a blue 2011 Chevy Traverse with NC license plate number LBL 1909.
