Acme Smoked Fish Corporation has issued a recall of 111 cases of Kirkland Signature Smoked Salmon in a 12 oz double pack, UPC 0 96619 25697 6, lot #8512801270, best before date 11/13/2024 due to laboratory testing confirming Listeria monocytogenes on October 21, 2024, a press release from Acme states.

“Listeria monocytogenes, an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, the frail or elderly, and others with weakened immune systems,” the press release states. Although healthy individuals only suffer short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause severe miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women, according to Acme.

This product was distributed between October 9, 2024 and October 13, 2024 and distributed to the Costco Southeast Distribution Center located in West Palm Beach, Florida and Costco Warehouse stores in Florida.

Kirkland Signature Smoked Salmon is vacuum-packed in black-edged plastic packaging, with the blue name “Smoked Salmon” and an illustration of a salmon fish on the front.

To date, no recall-related illnesses have been reported.

Consumers who purchased these products should not consume the products and are urged to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund or discard the product.
