Vicki Gunvalson Compares The Real Housewives to a ‘Deal with the Devil’

Vicki Gunvalson don’t hold back your time The Real Housewives of Orange County.

Gunvalson, an original actor from the very first Housewives The show, which premiered on Bravo in 2006, said she had no idea what she was signing up for at the time.

“Not a lot of money, I didn’t even have a lawyer look at my contract. I had no idea what I was doing,” she said.

Ultimately, the Coto Insurance founder earned seven figures for her final season as a full-time housewife during season 13.

“My last full-time season was important. Seven digits. I never really thought I would reach the numbers that I reached,” Gunvalson said.

“People ask me if I regret doing the show and when I look at my relationships, I would say yes. With Donn, 100%, the show had an impact on our relationship,” she said. “Being 100% on TV played a role in our divorce because it puts a lot of strain on a marriage. I think we would have survived if I wasn’t on the show So I regret it.

Gunvalson previously opened up about how allowing cameras into her home impacted her marriage.

“I think looking back… I know for a fact that if I hadn’t been on a reality show, I wouldn’t have gotten divorced,” she said during a January 2021 appearance on the reality TV show. Podcast “Behind the Velvet Rope”.

During Tuesday’s episode of Dark side of reality TVGunvalson also described the “traumatic” way she learned about her mother, Joanne Steinmetzhad died on camera while filming in Costar Shannon Beadoris at home.

” (My daughter) Brianna had called, called, called, and they kept telling her, “Well, she’s filming right now, blah, blah, blah.” She says, ‘I need to talk to my mom right now,'” Gunvalson said, referring to the show’s production team.

According to Gunvalson, production set up Beador’s wrapping paper room with “lights and camera operators” to capture his eventual phone call with Briana. Gunvalson was eventually filmed breaking down in tears and falling to the ground when she heard the news.

“I was really upset that production had known for an hour and they hadn’t told me,” Gunvalson said. “They crossed the line and I think they should have taken me aside and said, ‘Your mother died.’ Talk to your daughter off camera. If I were a producer, that’s what I would have done.

“Let me scream and cry by myself and be angry,” she continued. “It was very, very traumatic. I will never forgive Bravo for this.

Despite his criticism, Gunvalson continued to make appearances on RHOC since his full-time release after season 13, including during season 18currently airing on Bravo.
