Ekta Kapoor thanks PM for ‘inspiring words’ on Sabarmati report

Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised Bollywood’s latest film, The Sabarmati Report, based on the tragic Sabarmati Express incident which occurred on the morning of February 27, 2002, near Godhra railway station in Gujarat. Acknowledging the film’s role in revealing the truth, Modi took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his thoughts.

In response, Sabarmati Report producer Ekta Kapoor shared her gratitude, highlighting how Modi’s appreciation was a significant boost for the film’s team.

Resharing the Prime Minister’s message, Ekta wrote in Hindi on They boosted our morale. Your appreciation of #TheSabarmatiReport proves that we are moving in the right direction. . Thank you for this love and support (sic).”

By responding to user X’s point of view on the film, Prime Minister Modi said that a “false narrative can only persist for a limited period of time.”

He wrote in his post, “Well said. It is good that this truth is coming out, and that too in a way that common people can see it. A false narrative can only persist for a limited period of time. Ultimately, the facts will be revealed I am still going out (sic).”

The user 59 people, including women and children, lost their lives.

The Sabarmati Report hit theaters on November 15. The film received mostly negative reviews. Part of Today’s opinion on India read: “Overall, the film is an honest attempt to examine the Godhra tragedy and what happened to the Sabarmati Express on that fateful day. However, it is marred by several problems added to it – including the whole vernacular and English journalists angle. , which really goes too far, sometimes overshadowing the tragedy. »
