UAE visa amnesty: Indian consulate help desk to be operational on Sunday – News

The amnesty helpline at the Indian Consulate in Dubai will be operational on Sunday, October 27, the mission said on Friday.

In a post on X, the consulate said the helpline would operate from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.


The Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate in Dubai have announced several measures to help expatriates after the UAE implemented the two-month deadline. visa amnesty program September 1st.

The Embassy had stated that expatriates can visit any BLS center in the emirate of Abu Dhabi without prior appointment, apart from the provision of Emergency Certificates (EC) and assignments in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

The consulate had also set up hotline numbers during the amnesty period.

The consulate, which operates in its offices and in Al Awir, had issued 500 exit permits and 600 passports to overstayers as of September 28. The consulate supported more than 4,000 service seekers under this initiative and also issued 800 CEs.

The amnesty period will end on October 31. The Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) declared on October 7 that there would be no extension of the program.

The ICP added that there would be expulsions and a strengthening of measures with the inclusion of violators on the list of people prohibited from entry.
