Let the Carol 2024 countdown begin!

Maria Juliana Pinzón/RCR

Voting season is over – or is it? That’s right, it’s time for CPR Classical’s 16th annual Carol Countdown! With snow falling across much of the state, we’re ready to get into the winter spirit and crown another champion.

32 songs. Five weeks. Four divisions. A champion. You will decide which Carol takes home the trophy over the next five weeks.

No more debates or politicians, just good old competition. Will King Wenceslas eliminate the Merry Gentleman in the first round? Who will participate in the second round: “O Christmas Tree” or “Sleigh Ride?” » Which 1940s classic do you support: “White Christmas” or “The Christmas Song?”

Six new songs are waiting to step into the ring this year. Will “Away in the Manger”, “Coventry Carol”, “O Christmas Tree”, “Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer”, “Hallelujah Chorus” or “Winter Wonderland” end up forcing some of the contenders out of the last year?

It’s all up to you! Vote in the interactive Round 1 below to decide who advances to Round 2. When you do, you will also be entered to win a family pack of four tickets to the DCPA production of “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Musical” on November 29. See the competition rules here.

Voting for the first round is open until midnight on November 11. We will count the votes and announce which Christmas carols will advance to the second round on November 14. Stay tuned to CPR Classical and sign up for our newsletter to stay in touch with how your favorite Christmas carols are doing. Voting will continue until we declare a winner on December 10th on this year’s Carol Countdown, starting at 7 a.m. on CPR Classical!
