Warning issued at Prince William and Kate Middleton’s royal residence in London

The prince And Princess of Wales London House, Kensington Palacewas forced to close on Sunday due to bad weather.

In a message shared on Twitter, a closure notice read: “Due to Storm Bert, there will be a number of closures at our sites on Sunday November 24th.

“Kensington Palace is closed today – please visit our website to find out more about the gardens at Hampton Court Palace and Hillsborough Castle.”

Meanwhile, a sign attached to the park gates read: “Park closed. Unsafe conditions – do not enter.”

Storm Bert swept across much of the UK this weekend, bringing strong winds, heavy rain and snow to large swaths of the country. Flood warnings and alerts remain in place for England, Scotland and Wales.

While Princess Kate and Prince William primarily reside at Adelaide Cottage in Windsor, Kensington Palace remains their official London residence.

The Royal Palace was once their former home, with Kate and William raising their family in Apartment 1A. The large residence includes five reception rooms, three master bedrooms, dressing rooms and a day and night nursery, as well as staff accommodation.

While the royal couple tends to keep their home out of the spotlight, Prince Harry painted a picture of William and Kate’s London home in his memoir, Spare.

Narrating a visit he and his wife Meghan Markle At Kensington Palace, Harry wrote: “Willy and Kate invited us for tea. To clear the air. June 2018.

“We walked on it late in the afternoon. I saw Meg’s eyes widen as we walked in their front door, walked past their living room, down their hallway, into their office.’ Wow,’ Meg said repeatedly. The wallpaper, the moldings, the walnut shelves lined with color-coordinated volumes, the priceless art. Gorgeous. Like a museum. »

He continued: “And we both told them so. We generously congratulated them on their renovation, although we also thought sheepishly about our IKEA lamps, our recently bought discount sofa on sale, with Meg’s credit card, from sofa.com.”

Wales moved to Windsor in 2022. Their charming family home is located in Windsor Great Park, which has over 655 acres of land.

Adelaide Cottage is a Grade II listed building and was recently renovated in 2015. It has large patio doors, fireplaces, a covered veranda and a bubblegum pink exterior.

According to the Royal Collection, the cottage was originally built for Queen Adelaide, wife of King William IV, in 1831.

Before the future king’s move out of London, the Cottage of Grace and Favor housed Princess Margaret’s lover, Peter Townsend, and his then-wife, Rosemary Pratt, to keep him close to King George VI as ‘squire.
