Guardiola’s Man City aimed to bounce back from a 4-1 defeat to Sporting CP in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Things started well for the defending champions, and it looked like they were going to score maximum points. Erling Haaland opened the scoring in the first half, but they couldn’t add to it.

Brighton’s second-half attack saw Joao Pedro and Matt O’Riley score to condemn Man City to another painful defeat.

They have now lost four games in a row. This is the first time Guardiola has lost four consecutive matches in his career, according to Opta Joe.

Man City have lost their last two Premier League matches and could be five points behind if Liverpool beat Aston Villa.
