Nordex secures order for 100 MW wind turbines in Canada

THE Nordex The group has obtained an order to supply 100 MW wind turbines from a Canadian customer.

As part of the contract, Nordex has agreed to deliver 19 units of its N163/5.X wind turbines.

However, the company did not disclose the name of the customer or the name of the wind farm.

The contract stipulates that the wind turbines will be delivered to a wind farm under development in Quebec.

These turbines will be mounted on 125 m high steel towers and their installation is planned for mid-2026.

The customer opted for the cold climate version of the turbines, which will be equipped with the Nordex advanced anti-icing system on the rotor blades.

The order included 74 of the company’s N163 turbines, as well as service contracts lasting between 15 and 30 years.

The turbines are expected to be delivered in 2025 and 2026 for undisclosed projects and customers.

The company said that so far it has sold nearly 1.2 GW of turbines in Canada.

In July this year, Nordex installed its first N175/6.X turbine at a community wind farm in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, for testing.

The wind turbine, designed for light to medium wind conditions, has a rotor sweep area of ​​24,053 m² and a rated capacity of 6.8 MW.
