Apple made major design changes to the Photos app in iOS 18with a new presentation and a new navigation system. But the redesign wasn’t universally praised, and Apple had to roll back a number of changes it introduced – and has now tweaked the Photos app again to reverse a change in how it handles videos.

Previously, when you opened a video in Photos, it was displayed with thick frames at the top, bottom, and sides, with the video squashed slightly to fit those borders. When you tapped on the video, the playback controls disappeared and the video expanded to fill the screen.
