‘It’s time for an overhaul’ – Dublin Airport announces major closure as it reveals ‘bigger and better’ plans for 2025

DUBLIN Airport has announced the closure of one of its most popular outlets – but revealed big plans for next year.

Butlers Café in Terminal 2 has closed its doors to undergo a complete renovation.

But those who jump on a flight Fear not, because a temporary kiosk will be opening later this week.

Take at X, formerly TwitterDublin Airport shared the news of the closure.

In the tweetthey explained, “It’s time for a redesign!”

“Butlers Cafe in T2 has closed to allow for a complete refurbishment. Fear not, coffee lovers – a temporary @ButlersChocs kiosk will open later this week to ensure you can still get your pre-flight fix.”

The team added that a “bigger and better” Butlers Café would reopen in early 2025.

The photo displayed next to it shows the closed Butlers Café, with large doors surrounding the kiosk.

This comes shortly after the airport made another huge announcementa real boost for the jetset.

Dublin Airport has announced the opening of a new cafe in Terminal 2 – and it’s got a diverse range of selections up for grabs.

The new cafe, Fruitality, offers healthy meals, specialty smoothies and hot meals to go.

The new F&B outlet is located airside of Terminal 2 and serves delicious hot breakfasts, salads, porridge, acai bowls and fresh smoothies.

By taking Dublin Airport said: ““More healthy options”… “a place to get smoothies in T2”… “acai bowls”…

“You told us, we listened and now it’s here!

“Fruitality – located airside in Terminal 2 – is now fully open and selling everything from smoothies and sandwiches to pasta dishes and porridge.”

The post shared a video of the new food outlet with classic interiors that make you feel comfortable despite being in one of the busiest areas of Dublin Airport.

There are indoor dining areas, grab-and-go shelves with ready-made meals, a counter with many types of acai bowls, a barista, smoothie specialist, and access to bathrooms.

They also serve a new range of pastries.

Passengers were shocked by the new arrival of the food outlet and said they “can’t wait to try it” when they passed through Terminal 2.

Meanwhile, Ireland’s main airport recently revealed a new hotel will open within the next two years.

Dublin Airport revealed on Facebook that a new Sofitel hotel would open on site by the end of 2026.

The Sofitel is a luxury hotel brand which is part of the French multinational group AccorHotels.

Known for its blend of French Elegance and local cultural influences, Sofitel properties offer upscale accommodation, fine dining and exceptional service.

These hotels are found in major cities around the world like New York, Paris and London.

The Facebook post read: “Excellent news for passengers! Arriving at Dublin Airport late 2026 – Ireland’s first ever Sofitel hotel.”
