It takes a real man to admit his wrongs. Despite what you think Colin Cowherdthat’s exactly what he did.

One of the biggest topics Cowherd addressed heading into the 2024 NFL season was the state of play. Pittsburgh Steelers.

“I think I was really wrong about Pittsburgh… We always thought he was amazing, but I think what Mike Tomlin showed over the course of this season – and I’m wrong on this – it “I always felt he was a little tone deaf offensively,” Cowherd said Thursday. Colin Cowherd Podcast. “But moving away from Kenny Pickett, Mason Rudolph and Justin Fields – who had a winning record – and settling on Russell Wilson, I think it shows he’s more aware than I thought.

Cowherd went on to say that he knows defensive coaches can struggle with quarterback urgency, but that Tomlin understands the weight of the situation. He gives Tomlin his due for making a decision that many Steelers fans and media were against.

“I think even if they won… it’s difficult as a coach when you’re winning to make changes, right? Like you’re going to disrupt things; there’s four of us and two; I’m not going to disturb the locker room It takes a pair of Mike Tomlins at four and two o’clock to come in and say: Guys, there should be five of us and one. We are a better team than that.

Cowherd knows, as does Steelers Nation, that Wilson is not what he once was, but he is capable. Although he slightly favors the Baltimore Ravens, Cowherd believes the Steelers can win the division.

Even though the Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals aren’t who we thought they were, records are thrown out the window when the rubber meets the road between their division rivals.

The Steelers have a arduous task ahead to come out the other side unscathed and playoff-bound, but with Tomlin at the helm and Wilson improving, the sky’s the limit.
