Rainy weather.

Residents in the Nairobi metropolitan area have been advised to prepare for light to moderate rain, with occasional heavy downpours.

The Kenya Meteorological Department said other areas where rainfall isExpected regions include the highlands east and west of the Rift Valley, Lake Victoria Basin, Rift Valley, southeast lowlands, coast and northeast Kenya .

This will occur during the first half of the forecast period, which runs from November 5 to 11.

The forecast showed the possibility of isolated storms over parts of the aforementioned regions.

Met said the second half of the forecast period is likely to be generally sunny and dry.

The meteorologist added that average daytime temperatures (maximum) of over 30°C will be recorded in several parts of the country, including northeast and northwest Kenya.

In contrast, average (minimum) nighttime temperatures will be below 10°C over parts of the highlands east of the Rift Valley and the Central Rift Valley.

According to regional rainfall forecasts, the highlands to the west of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin and the Rift Valley will experience sunny intervals in the morning, although light rain may occur in a few places during the first half of the forecast period.

In the afternoon and at night, showers and thunderstorms are expected in a few places, occasionally spreading to several places during the first half of the forecast period.

The affected counties include Kisii, Nyamira, Nandi, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Siaya, Kisumu, Homabay, Busia, Migori, Narok, Baringo, Nakuru, Trans-Nzoia, Uasin-Gishu, Elgeyo-Marakwet and West- Pokot Counties.

In northwestern Kenya (Turkana and Samburu counties), sunny intervals are expected during the day while nights are likely to be partly cloudy.

However, morning rain and afternoon and night showers and thunderstorms may occur at a few places during the first half of the forecast period.

The forecast shows that in the highlands to the east of the Rift Valley, there will be morning rains as well as afternoon and night showers in a few places during the first half of the forecast period .

The affected counties include Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, Tharaka-Nithi and Nairobi.

In northeastern Kenya (Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa and Isiolo counties), there will be morning rains as well as afternoon and night showers in a few places during the first half of the forecast period.

In the southeastern lowlands (Machakos, Kitui, Makueni, Kajiado and Taita-Taveta counties as well as the interior parts of Tana-River County), the mornings will be characterized by rain and showers in the afternoon. Midday and night are expected in a few places. during the first half of the forecast period.

On the coast (Mombasa, Kilifi, Lamu and Kwale counties as well as the coastal areas of Tana-River County), mornings, afternoons and nights are expected to experience showers in a few locations during the first half of the forecast period.
