Earlier, reports were doing the rounds that the shooting of Rishab Shetty’s directorial and starrer Kantara: Chapter 1 was stalled after a terrible bus accident left some young artists in the film injured. Reports indicate that six young artists were hospitalized following the accident, stalling production of the film. However, the producers have now released a statement on the matter in which they have denied any speculation about stopping the shooting of the film.

Kantara: Chapter 1: Accidents for injured juniors

Talking about the accident, according to a PTI report, six young artists of Kantara: Chapter 1 were seriously injured when their bus overturned in Udipi area. Local police officials revealed that the accident occurred near Jadkal on Sunday (November 24). A police official reportedly revealed, “The incident took place when they were returning to Kollur after completing the shoot at Mudoor in Jadkal. The minibus was carrying 20 young artists when it had the accident. The injured artists were rushed to Jadkal and Kundapur hospitals. A report in News18 further reported that the six junior artists having serious problems injuries were hospitalized at Jadkaal Mahalakshmi Clinic. Police authorities are currently investigating this matter.

Kantara Statement: The Creators of Chapter 1

However, producers have denied any rumors that the film’s shooting has been stalled. Their statement read: “The news circulating is completely false. The Kantara: Chapter 1 team started filming at 6 a.m. today, and everything is going smoothly. A minor accident occurred 20 kilometers from the scene of the shooting, involving a local bus carrying some members of the Kantara team. However, no injuries were reported.

Speaking of Kantara: Chapter 1, the film is the sequel to the 2022 hit film directed by Rishab Shetty and also starred him in the lead role. The makers also recently released a new poster for the film. The film will also star Jayaram and Jisshu Sengupta.
