Google has announcement four new features for its Chrome web browser for iOS devices. The most notable addition is an update to Google Lens which allows users to search using a combination of entered text and an image.

To use the new feature, tap the Google Lens icon in Chrome’s search bar, add an image, and perform a text query. Research will provide relevant answers, sometimes with AI Insights. This update allows you to “perform more complex and specific searches,” Google says. Google Lens’ multimodal search feature is also available in the Google app on iOS.

Chrome users can now download web content directly into Google Drive And Google Photos. This can free up space on the device and make it easier to transfer something you love from your device to the Drive.

To save a document, download it and choose Google Drive as the destination folder. To do the same for photos, long-press on the image and select “Save to Google Photos” from the pop-up window. Items downloaded from the web will appear in the “Saved from Chrome” folder in Google Drive.

US users will receive a “Good Deal Now” notification if Chrome has Shopping Insights for a product they are looking for. The notification will appear at the top left of the address bar. Opening it will provide key details such as price history, price tracking, and other purchasing options. To use this feature, enable the “Improved search and navigation” feature in Chrome settings.

Google is also testing a feature that lets you browse maps in the browser. Soon, tapping on a linked address will open a mini-map of the location. Google plans to roll out this feature globally soon.
