Another Listeria recall issued for nearly 4,600 pounds of meat and poultry products

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Meat and poultry products have been recalled following a threat of listeria contamination, according to the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service.

Yu Shang Food Inc. of Spartanburg, South Carolina, recalled approximately 4,589 pounds of ready-to-eat products that may be adulterated with Listeria monocytogenes, FSIS said.

Items were shipped to retail locations nationwide and available for purchase online.

The items were produced October 21-27 with expiration dates ranging from August 21, 2025 to August 27, 2025. The products subject to recall have establishment number P-46684 or EST. M46684 inside USDA inspection mark.

Recalled products:

• Yu Shang brand cooked chicken, 20 ouncesvacuum packaging.

• Seasoned Pork Shank, 20 oz.

• Japanese Chashu pork belly, 16 ounces, vacuum packed.

• Braised pork belly with brown sauce, 16 ounces.

• Yu Shang brand cooked pork knuckle, 1.4 pounds.

• Chinese Brand Spicy Chicken Feet, 8 oz.

• Bazhen Seasoned Whole Chicken, 20 oz.

• Braised beef shank, 16 ounces.

• Seasoned Pork Tongues, 12 oz.

Eating food contaminated with L. monocytogenes can cause listeriosis, a serious infection that primarily affects older adults, people with weakened immune systems, and pregnant women and their newborns.

Consumers who have purchased the products must throw them away or return them to the place of purchase.

This is the latest recall involving products suspected of being contaminated with Listeria. In October, an Oklahoma company was hit by a massive recall affecting nearly 10 million books of products. Distribution also affected several daycares in Northeast Ohio.
