Snowfall and freezing temperatures have hit Hull and East Yorkshire, prompting ice and snow warnings.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning from 18:00 GMT Tuesday to 12:00 Wednesday.

He said conditions would make travel difficult.

The RAC urged people not to rush out of the house without planning their trip.

Among the driving tips is to clear snow from the windshield, windows, roof and headlights before getting in the car. Boiling water should not be used to melt snow, as this may crack the glass.

East Yorkshire Motor Services Ltd said there were disruptions to a number of its routes “due to bad weather”.

He advised passengers to plan their journey and “stay safe”.

National Rail has also advised passengers to check their journey before traveling.
