JONES COUNTY, Miss. (WDAM) – A car crash left several Jones County residents without power Friday morning.

According to the Jones County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened around 6:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 25, at the intersection of Hawkes Road and Erata Road.

Authorities said a car left the road and collided with a utility pole. The collision caused the pole to break and power lines to fall into the roadway.

JCSO said there were no injuries, but the road was blocked. Drivers should find an alternate route and use caution in the area.

Mississippi Power operates the power lines along Hawkes Road. Crews were called to repair the downed lines and broken pole.
