Athina AI, which operates on a SaaS model, has secured $3 million (INR 25 Cr) in a seed funding round from a group of investors, including Denis Yarats, CTO of Perplexity, Alex Ratner, CEO of Snorkel AI, Kleiner Perkins Scout Fund and Y Combinator. others.

With this, the startup claims to have raised $4.1 million in total funding so far.

Founded by Himanshu Bamoria and Shiv Sakhuja, Athina AI offers an end-to-end platform that helps businesses build and monitor production AI applications.

The platform allows businesses to run experiments with prompts and templates, collaborate between technical and non-technical team members, and monitor AI performance in production. It helps teams determine metrics around the accuracy and performance of AI output.

The startup counts several unicorns among its corporate clients, including Perplexity, Meesho, PhysicsWallah and listed company Doximity. The majority of its paying customers are mid-sized and enterprise businesses based in the United States.

“The majority of this funding amount would be used to improve the product so that we can meet the evolving demands of our customers. As the whole landscape changes and new demands arise, we want to improve the product to meet all these requirements,” Bamoria told Inc42.

“Our vision is to help businesses create production-grade AI applications. Currently, we are focusing more on helping people create reliable AI agents,” he added.

The company recently moved its headquarters from India to San Francisco.

The startup claims to have already raised an undisclosed amount in its pre-seed funding round led by Flourish Ventures, GSF India, IndiaMART founder Dinesh Agarwal, Matrimony.com founder Murugavel Janakiraman and Zomato co-founder Mohit Gupta.

This funding comes at a time when AI development tools are seeing increasing demand.

According to Inc42 reportsthe artificial intelligence market size is expected to grow from $387.45 billion in 2022 to over $1.3 billion by 2029. Currently, 85% of Indian SaaS companies have adopted AI, with more of 1.5,000 AI-powered SaaS startups in India.

The round follows other notable investments in the field of AI development. Recently, an AI SaaS startup Ennoventure raised $8.9 million in Series A funding led by Tanglin Venture Partners. Earlier this month, BiteSpeed ​​got $3.5 million in a pre-Series A funding round led by Peak XV Partner’s Surge to expand its AI offerings for e-commerce players.
