The actor briefly brought back his famous character after saying he would not reprise the role in a 2021 interview.

Sacha Baron Cohen is back (albeit briefly) as Borat Sagdiev!

During the Thursday, October 24 episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallonthe 53-year-old actor returned to the role of the Kazakh satirical journalist to make fun of Donald Trump And Kamala Harris ahead of the next one American election.

After the first dressing like his alter ego Ali GFallon then asked Baron Cohen, “What would Borat do? That would be kind of fun…” referring to a possible mock presidential debate between the character and the two election candidates.

“We’re going to get into your dramatic game, but Borat interviewing the two presidential candidates, that would be very interesting to see…” the host then said, before pulling out the character’s famous sports coat and mustache.

Fallon insisted they always had the suit on hand “in case of emergency,” adding, “Do you just want to try it on? See what it looks like,” before Baron Cohen was resurrected the character.

“Jimmy Phallus,” he said several times, before kissing the host and saying, “You have women in the audience.”

Among other Trump-related jokes, Baron Cohen then said, “Why is that woman on stage? Is that Storming Daniels? She’s very nice!” he added, referring to the adult film actress Stormy Danielswho claimed to have had an affair with Trump in 2006.

Baron Cohen performed in 2006 Borat as a fictional Kazakh journalist who travels across the United States to make a documentary, with the film featuring real-life interactions with Americans.

The actor then reprized the character for the 2020 sequel, Later Borat filmfeaturing Maria Bakalova like his daughter Tutar.

Baron Cohen Tonight Show his appearance came after he said Entertainment tonight in February 2021 that he I will not continue with the character because “it has become too dangerous”.

“There were a few times where I had to put on a bulletproof vest to go shoot a scene, and you don’t want to do that too many times in your life. I was very lucky to get out this time, so no, I won’t do it again, I’ll stick to the scripted stuff,” he said at the time.

Baron Cohen admitted he got little to no sleep the night before attending events like the far-right rally in the suite.

“The day before something like this – this gathering – you try to overcome everything that can go wrong,” he said. AND. “In a normal scene like we’re doing, we try to make sure, ‘How can I make sure my performance is real? Have I done my research? How can I make sure the accent is Perfect ?’ In this one, you’re like, “Okay, if a bunch of armed guys come to this side of the stage, do I have a way out? What happens if someone?” ‘one shoots me? What if a group of people start shooting me?’ “

The production also created “an amplifier that was basically bomb-proof” which the actor could hide behind if necessary. Baron Cohen added to AND“Yeah, I don’t want to do it again. I got through it. I’m not taking my chances anymore.”
