The northbound lanes of I-95 are closed Monday morning due to a shooting investigation, according to police.

Maryland State Police said around 4 a.m. a man was found outside a car near Route 198. An officer told News4 the shooting involved two people who were knew.

An altercation broke out and the suspect allegedly fired five shots from his car and left, according to police.

The man who was found shot to death outside a car was taken to a nearby trauma center for treatment.

The investigation into the shooting closed the northbound lanes of I-95, causing traffic to flow for a few hours. Police redirected morning commuters to the southbound lanes to ease traffic flow.

The investigation is ongoing.
