US Election 2024 Live: Trump and Harris Prepare for Final Assault in ‘Purple States’

US Election 2024 Live: US Vice President and Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris speaks during a campaign rally at Michigan State University’s Jenison Field House in East Lansing, Michigan on 3 November 2024.

US election 2024 live: Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump will travel to battleground states on Monday for one last campaign run before voting on November 5. Trump and Harris will even hold dueling rallies in the industrial city of Pittsburgh. Harris will spend all her energies in Pennsylvania, where 19 Electoral College votes could be the biggest asset to boosting her chances of winning the US presidency. The Democratic candidate will visit popular neighborhoods, including Allentown, and end with a nighttime rally with Lady Gaga and Oprah Winfrey.…Learn more

As she approaches her final phase of the campaign, Harris has avoided mentioning her candidate and has been optimistic in promising generational change in leadership. The vice-president’s campaign theme resumed the tone of her previous phase, where she presented her “politics of joy” and her “freedom” against Trump, whom Harris accused of seeking “revenge”.

“From the beginning, our campaign was not about being against anything. It’s about standing for something,” Harris said Sunday night at Michigan State University.

Trump will hold four rallies in three battleground states – Michigan, North Carolina and Pennsylvania – before entering the final phase of his campaign. The Republican focused on migration and the economy as key themes, even as he called his political opponents “enemies within.”

In Pennsylvania on Sunday, Trump repeated his claims of election fraud, signaling he might not accept defeat. The former president claimed “evil” Democrats were “fighting so hard to steal the damn thing,” despite there being no evidence of voter fraud. He also apparently mocked his own supporters, calling them stupid if they didn’t vote.

More than 75 million Americans have already voted as of Sunday, according to the University of Florida Election Lab, which tracks early and mail voting across the United States.
