Jeevan Pramaan Patra submission deadline is November 30 – what happens if you miss the window?

With just five days to go before the deadline of November 30, 2024, retirees must submit their Jeevan Pramaan Patra (life certificate) to avoid delays in pension payments.

Retirees can go to bank branchesopt for home banking or use the Jeevan Pramaan application for online submissions.

If the Jeevan Pramaan Patra is not submitted on time, pension payment for the following months will be suspended. Payments will only resume once the certificate is received by the Central Pension Processing Centers (CPPC) and processed in the next pension cycle.

Who must present the annual life certificate

Around 69.76 lakh central government pensioners must submit their life certificate every year to keep their pension payments active.

The submission window started earlier, on October 1, for retirees aged 80 and over, giving them more time to complete the process.

All other retirees must meet the November 30 deadline to avoid any interruption in payments.

What to do if there are delays or problems

In case of delay or problems with the submission, retirees can contact the pension payment organization or the pension payment branch of the bank.

For unresolved issues, contacting the Banking Ombudsman can help resolve grievances and ensure timely processing of the Life Certificate.

Management of refusals

If your life certificate is rejected due to incorrect details, you can correct the information and biometrics and then generate a new certificate.

Contact the Pensions Payment Agency (PDA) for help in resolving the problem.

Did you miss it for three years?

If the life certificate is not presented for three years or more, retirees will have to obtain orders from the Centrale Comptable des Pensions (CPAO) to resume payments.
