Original news (November 21, 11:58 p.m.)

As previously announced, Star Wars: Outlaw will be published on Steam today at 10:00 a.m.. The game will be accompanied by the first narrative expansion – Joker – and update 1.4, which will present quite significant changes. The developers now have revealed the next round of updatesand upon their launch, they will post a video showcasing all the new features, improvements and fixes.

No need to sneak around

Forced stealth sections are one of the elements often criticized by players. In the game there are situations where we must eliminate opponents silently, and in case of failure we are forced to repeat the entire stage. Star Wars: Outlaw Creative director Drew Rechner admitted he understands why it can be frustrating. He also confirmed that Update 1.4 will remove this requirement from “almost all” missions to give players more freedom.

This is not to say that sneaking is no longer a viable option, or even preferable in some cases. Instead, if you are caught sneaking, the objective will not fail and will reset you to the last checkpoint. Instead, you’ll transition smoothly into combat.

These are not all the changes announced by Rechner. Version 1.4 will also introduce:

  1. the ability to fight in the Syndicate districts – before, we could only sneak in;
  2. much longer storage of weapons found in the field, with a wider range of possibilities for use in various situations;
  3. weak points of enemies – hitting them will cause more damage.

Is that enough to keep “millions of players playing Outlaws for years”? This is a difficult task, but these are certainly changes in the right direction, providing greater freedom during gameplay.

It should be noted that Star Wars: Outlaw on Steam uses Denuvo protection and requires us to have a Ubisoft account. The price has not yet been revealed but for the launch of Assassin’s Creed: Mirage on the Valve platform, a 50% discount has been prepared. We might also see a larger or smaller discount this time around.
