Hyderabad: The state government has approved Master Plan 2041 for Kakatiya Development Area (Warangal).

The Department of Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) issued an order in this regard on Sunday. The plan, covering an area of ​​1,805 sq km spread across 181 revenue villages, aims to guide the urban development of Warangal and its surrounding areas for the next two decades.

The Kakatiya Urban Development Authority (KUDA) has prepared the master plan, which includes land use zoning and general development promotion regulations. The process involved public consultations, input from technical review committees and deliberations with district officials. The draft plan was notified in 2018, inviting public objections and suggestions over a 90-day period.

The KUDA Vice Chairman has been directed to ensure that a copy of the Master Plan as well as the general zoning and development promotion regulations are kept open for inspection at the KUDA office and in conspicuous places .

Although the draft master plan was approved by the Department of Municipal Administration in March 2021, it was not approved by the government for other reasons. Because of all these problems, there were obstacles in obtaining permits for large projects. With the government’s approval for the new mega-master plan, there is an opportunity to overcome all these obstacles.
