As Donald Trump wins, America’s electoral parties turn to mourning

In the days leading up to the presidential election, when many polls pointed to a Kamala Harris victory for the American presidency, many residents of coastal towns and college towns should celebrate election night.

Instead, Donald Trumpa convicted felon, made an improbable comeback to become the nation’s 47th president.

“I realize the country has spoken, and as an LGBTQ person and as someone who believes that women and people of all genders deserve equal rights, does that matter? But by the end of Tuesday evening, she had not spoken to her supporters or delivered a concession speech.
