Kumaraswamy asks SIT to probe Siddaramaiah BJP’s Rs 50 crore corruption allegations each for 50 MLAs – Karnataka News

Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy on Friday demanded a Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe into Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s claim that the BJP offered Rs 50 crore each to 50 Congress MLAs to unseat his government in Karnataka.

Speaking to reporters, Kumaraswamy slammed Siddaramaiah for making what he called “irresponsible statements”. He said: “Such statements should not be made as they resemble those made by buffoons. » The minister urged the ruling Congress to use its power to investigate the alleged corruption case.

Kumaraswamy suggested forming an SIT over the corruption allegations, adding, “If he does not form an SIT to probe this matter, then people will doubt him and his Cabinet colleagues.” »

BJP Karnataka president BY Vijayendra had earlier challenged Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to disclose the source and show proof of his allegations. He accused the Chief Minister of damaging his own party by leveling baseless accusations, saying Siddaramaiah’s statements would lose credibility if he did not provide evidence.

Kumaraswamy’s statements come after Siddaramaiah accused the BJP of trying to bribe Congress MLAs, but said none of them had accepted the offer. He also alleged that BJP leaders are now targeting him with fake deals, including the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) site allocation scam.
