Parents Create a Whack-a-Mole Costume for Triplet Boys (Exclusive)

Jordan Flom and his wife Rachel were brainstorming Halloween costume ideas for their 9-month-old triplet sons when she came up with a clever idea: whack a mole!

Flom, who also has a daughter with Rachel, tells PEOPLE that after the two agreed on the idea, he got to work making it happen in the best way possible. After creating a plan, he spent about five hours working on the design.

“POV: When mom gives you the triplets costume,” the Nashville resident captioned an Instagram video of himself making the costume.

In an interview with PEOPLE, the father explained that the costume was made using a very large box from Home Depot, along with fabric and glue from Michaels. In the Instagram videohe captured himself spray painting cardboard red and blue, then using pieces of foam to transform the box into what looked like an arcade game console, complete with cutouts for the heads of the babies.

He also added an inflatable hammer attached to the costume with a string. Once the costume was complete, he placed the triplets in the cutouts, wearing matching brown beanies.

“The triplets loved it, which surprised us! And the little girl thought it was so funny because she controlled the hammer, haha,” the father of five exclusively tells PEOPLE.

“I wanted a costume that was easy to use for people with young children, allowing them to push a cart around the block while participating,” says Flom.

“What you come up with never ceases to amaze me! ,” one person wrote.

Someone else added: “I absolutely nailed the triplet costume! It must be so much fun planning outfits for three adorable little pumpkins. I can’t wait to see more of their Halloween adventures .”
