During her tenure in the Senate, Blackburn successfully sponsored legislation to protect children from online exploitation and combat smuggling and trafficking of women and girls. Blackburn is also a vocal critic of the Chinese Communist Party.

Johnson, along with Reps. Justin Jones, D-Nashville, and Justin Pearson, D-Memphis became known as the “Tennessee Three.”
