Whenever we think of Yellowstone, the name John Dutton inevitably comes to mind. However, after putting on a stunning performance for four and a half seasons, Kevin Costner has decided to leave Yellowstone for good. This came as a huge shock to fans of the show, but since the show is moving forward anyway, someone has to take the lead role at the Yellowstone Ranch. So, who will replace Kevin Costner in Yellowstone? Is this someone we already know? Let’s find out.

Michelle Pfeiffer could replace John Dutton at Yellowstone

According to a report per THR, Michelle Pfeiffer is set to replace John Dutton in the Yellowstone universe. A new series called The Madison will see Michelle Pfeiffer in a lead role very similar to that of Kevin Costner’s John Dutton. Matthew McConaughey was also in talks to appear in this new series but as of now, we have no confirmation regarding his appearance. As of right now, we don’t have a release date for The Madison but we’ll let you know if anything happens. As for Yellowstone Season 5 Part 2, we don’t know who will replace John Dutton in the upcoming season.

There are no confirmed reports of an actor replacing Kevin Costner as John Dutton for Yellowstone Season 5 Part 2.. As for my opinion, I don’t think Taylor Sheridan will replace Kevin Costner, because that wouldn’t be acceptable to a large majority of people who follow Yellowstone religiously.

However, there are confirmed reports that Josh Lucas to reprise his role as Young John Dutton for Yellowstone Season 5 Part 2. Since he appears as the younger version of the character, we will see him in some flashback sequences. This will be Josh’s first time appearing in Yellowstone after season 3, so fans are pretty excited for this part. That being said, it remains a mystery how Taylor Sheridan planned to write such an influential character, but I guess we’ll find out when the series premieres on November 10, 2024.
