“This is the last chance for a government without the FPÖ. But there must also be no conflicting coalition and reforms are necessary,” says Heidi Glück. The Social Democrats have repeatedly assumed their responsibilities and have not always aroused enthusiasm. “The social democrats also paid the price,” says Joe Kalina, former general director of the SPÖ. The willingness of all three parties to work together is certainly there. But they should all make concessions. “A common agreement is difficult enough, as are global foreign political issues. We can learn something from the current government here,” Lothar Lockl is convinced. There just shouldn’t be any cuts, changes and constant bickering. “My recommendation is to focus on the big priorities, but not to negotiate every detail. Either way, there will be ministerial responsibility later.”
