China expressed concerns over U.S. tariffs and Russia-related sanctions at a meeting of the two countries’ economic working group in Washington.

Chinese Vice Finance Minister Liao Min also presented the package of stimulus policies recently implemented by the world’s second-largest economy during his meeting on Friday, the sixth of its kind, with the US Deputy Secretary of the Treasury , Jay Shambaugh, the ministry said in a statement.

Liao, in the US capital for the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, also had a courtesy talk with Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen after the economic working group meeting.

On Friday, the European Union and China agreed to soon hold new technical negotiations on possible alternatives to customs duties on electric vehicles made in China.

The EU is set to impose additional tariffs of up to 35.3% on Chinese-built electric vehicles next week following its anti-subsidy investigation, but said negotiations could continue afterwards.

The European Commission, which oversees trade policy for the 27-nation European Union, has already held eight rounds of technical negotiations with its Chinese counterparts and said “significant gaps” remained.
