It feels like just yesterday we were in the thick of the fall release calendar, bombarded every other day by a new blockbuster or indie hit. November slows things down a bit, but it’s not yet a month late. A new Mario and Luigi, Flight simulatorand the Lego game headlines a month of stuff just before the holiday rush.

We originally obtained Shadows of Assassin’s Creed in November, one last big RPG that fans can sink their teeth into before the end-of-year crisis. Instead, Ubisoft pushed this to the February gauntlet, giving Dragon Age: The Veilkeeper, Metaphor: Refantazioand people who somehow still haven’t finished Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth (that’s me!) a well-deserved respite.

Instead, this month shifts firmly into high gear into family gaming mode. In addition to a light Mario Bros. adventure and Microsoft’s “sorry, dad is in the middle of a transatlantic flight in the garage” simulator, we also get a LEGO Horizon Zero Dawn adaptation and TMNT brawler just in time to keep all those cousins busy after the Thanksgiving buffet. Here are 19 games we’re paying attention to in November.
