6 Things New RVers Need to Know

Many Americans have adopted “work from anywhere” policies during the COVID-19 pandemic, trading permanent residences for homes on wheels.

In 2022, approximately 3.1 million people in the United States lived in vans, a 63% increase from 2020. Yahoo Finance reported.

Travel Content Creator Lita Talisman31, and her husband, Dylan Regan, 30, were among those who made the switch.

In 2021, while they were still living in a suburb of Washington, D.C., Regan turned to Talisman one morning and asked, “Why don’t we build a van and move into it?”

And this is how the duo decided to leave their current accommodation once the lease ended.

Although the decision to travel and move into a van was an easy one, it took them an entire summer to build the right van for their needs.

“For the first few months, we worked very hard on weekends and some weeknights to transform the van,” Talisman told Business Insider. “We were working on the van every free second we had.”

Finally, by October 2021, after transform the van to their liking, they embark on the adventure.

The couple had originally planned to travel for just a year, but that trip extended into three years of van life. They only recently moved to their parents’ house in Washington, DC.
