A man is facing federal charges for allegedly threatening to kill former President Donald Trump and shoot conservative Christians while sending messages on social media in Ann Arbor.

In an affidavit submitted by the FBI, they found evidence that the man was sending threatening messages on social media in September and November 2024.

Former Taylor employee sentenced for helping ex-mayor steal campaign funds

A former employee and campaign manager of former Taylor Mayor Rick Sollars has been convicted for his role in a bribery conspiracy.

Jeffrey Baum, 49, of Allen Park, was sentenced to 18 months in prison.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Michigan, Baum was the director of Taylor’s Community Development Department and was responsible for overseeing the Right of First Refusal (ROFR) program. Through this program, the city acquired tax-delinquent homes and selected developers to rehab and then purchase them.

Weather report: Clouds will begin Wednesday before the sun, cooler temperatures set in across metro Detroit

On Election Day we will have a break in the rain for most of the day, but clouds will persist all day. Rain showers will return to the area Tuesday evening as polls close, and with a strong southerly flow, we expect a possible record high temperature by Tuesday afternoon.

We are forecasting a high temperature of 76° Tuesday afternoon, which would shatter the record of 74° set in 2022. With unseasonably warm conditions, the wind will also be gusty the next few days. Expect wind gusts up to 30 miles per hour on Monday and as high as 35 miles per hour on Tuesday.
